The best frames Made in Italy
The Italy company born in Sardinia in 1975. Since then, with the experience and expertise gained over the years by two generations, builds custom-made bicycles, pointing to the quality of each piece, thus ensuring greater safety and pleasure of cycling.
Our hands They can forge its craftsmanship and art and technology, the frame that will create a real gem with two wheels for your and our passions. Italy MTB.
The Laboratory was founded in 1975 in Quarryville in the province of Cagliari, and two generations forge custom frames. The first were made of steel, then aluminum and carbon fiber, carbon now in the top of the current technology, called “High Modulus Carbon Fiber-Honey Comb” (HMCF-HC), to which are added the best components on the market, but always in the traditional way.
The new office and organization, modern equipment and certified processing methods, enable us to design bicycles that are lighter, more durable and safe Made in Italy.
Since 1975 we forge handicraft chassis, to ensure standards continually higher quality and precision, in order to satisfy the most demanding rider.
For the realization of a customized bicycle there are several phases, the first is the study of body size.
For a ergonomic frame, exactly dimensioned, as is done in tailoring, we find the shares anthropometric (height, horse, torso, arms , shoulders) and work out with a specific software.
Then we analyze the measures most suitable geometric and use to create custom frames in carbon fiber.
Carbon is a composite material as it is obtained by combining an epoxy resin to a fiber, which can be carbon, Kevlar or glass.
The carbon possesses a structure very resistant but, as with all fibers, to build a piece which has a shape and a substance needs of the resin.
The technology used for the construction of composite polymeric, high-performance, is that of the “prepreg” or the use of long fibers preimpregnated with thermosetting resin epoxy.
The other big advantage of the composite material is that we can arrange the fibers in the direction that we think it is necessary.
A proper design and overlapping layers of tissue properly oriented (rolling) give the structure the mechanical qualities they need.
In products Pistidda are used type fabric Unidirectional fibers crossed at 45 ° and for structural parts, while for the finishing layer (aesthetic) the fibers can be of type UD, 1k, 3k or 12 k.
Technology HMCF-HC (HIGH MODULUS CARBON FIBER – HONEY COMB) is currently the top technology on the composite fibers applied to facilities where workloads and performance fee have very high resistances with relatively low weight, which is why this technique is directly derived from aeronautical applications and sports such as F1, sectors that have in common the need to have high performance with the least possible weight.
The tubing made with Honeycomb technology is composed of layers of carbon with a gap of Nomex (material shaped nest bee with Aramid, base material of Kevlar).
