Not just any shoe, of course – this was a Italian kitten heel. A sexy little mule-kitten hybrid, with none of the prim’n proper naffness ok kitten heels of yore – which explains how it had found its way on to the feet of that actress. Are they super chic? As in too chic for me? Or are they dated? Too simple? Anti-sexy? Or are they the ideal solution for when you just can’t decide between heel and flats?
There is something rather racy about the bared-heel and pointed toe combo which is why we’re calling these “bad kitties”. We know what you’re thinking — kitten heels are unflattering and so 2017, but we’re here to tell you that not only are they insanely practical, but they are also oh so stylish. The kitten heels were born in the 1950’s and who better to bring the feline named heel to the fore front then the film and fashion icon of her time the beautiful Audrey Hepburn.

They work all year round (yes, you CAN wear them with socks/tights) and they are very easy to work into your closet. Essentially you can treat them as a pair of regular heels and pro tip, they look especially great with cropped trousers.
And if you’re new at this, go for a neutral color instead of a bright or patterned pair. The kitten heel is perfect for the day. Its height does not exceed 2 inches. It looks chic with 3/4 pants to reveal the ankle. Well done! Now how about a few more fashionable shoes with kitten heels for the lady who does not like frumpy but can’t cope with 4 inch. I mean, when the strap on your favourite pair of low heeled sandals breaks – you jump straight back into the game with a new pair of kitten heels.
